The No Fee Pledge, in Plain Terms

“No win, no fee” is a phrase almost every personal injury firm uses. Here is exactly what it means at Georgia Auto Law, stated in four parts so there is nothing left to interpret.

No Fee PledgeYou don't pay a dime until we winNo Fee PledgeYou don't pay a dime until we win

The consultation is free

No charge to speak with us about your crash, and no obligation to hire us afterward. You can walk away owing nothing.

No attorney fee unless we win

Our fee comes out of the recovery we obtain for you. If there is no recovery, there is no fee.

We advance the case costs

Records, experts, filing fees, depositions — the firm fronts them so nothing comes out of your pocket while the case is pending.

The percentage is in writing first

Georgia requires contingency agreements to be written. You see the number and agree to it before we begin.

What Our Fee Actually Is

A contingency fee is a percentage of the compensation we recover for you. It is not an hourly rate, and it is not a retainer — there is no bill while the case is running and no charge if the case does not produce a recovery.

The percentage depends on how far your case has to go. A claim that settles with the insurance company before a lawsuit is filed takes far less work than one that has to be litigated through discovery and tried, and the fee reflects that. Georgia requires contingency fee agreements to be in writing, so the exact percentage for your case is set out in the agreement you review and sign before we begin — never decided afterward.

For the typical fee ranges in Georgia, what gets deducted from a settlement besides the attorney fee, and a worked example of what a client actually takes home, see how much a car accident lawyer costs in Georgia.

What Happens If We Don’t Win

Most firms advertise “no win, no fee” and stop there. The question that actually matters is what happens to the money already spent on your case — the medical records, the experts, the filing fees — if the claim does not succeed.

Our answer: you owe nothing. No attorney fee, and no bill for the case expenses we advanced. Those costs are the firm’s to absorb. You do not walk away from a lost case owing Georgia Auto Law money.

It is worth asking any firm you consult this question directly, and asking for the answer in writing in the fee agreement. Not every firm answers it the same way, and the difference only becomes visible after a case has already been lost.

“Win” here means a recovery — a settlement or a verdict. The great majority of car accident claims resolve by settlement without ever reaching a courtroom, and a settlement counts.

Why We Take the Risk With You

A contingency fee is not a marketing device. It is what makes it possible for someone who just lost their car, their income, and their health to hire the same quality of representation the insurance company has on retainer from day one. It also means the firm only does well when the client does — there is no version of your case where we get paid and you do not.

A fee agreement should not be the confusing part of hiring a lawyer. If someone has to ask what our fee is three times before they get a straight answer, we have already failed them. We put the percentage in writing before we start, we advance the costs, and if we do not recover anything, that is our loss to absorb — not a bill we send to someone who is already hurt.

Questions About Our Fees

Do I owe Georgia Auto Law anything if we do not win my case?
No. If we do not recover compensation for you, you owe no attorney fee, and you are not billed for the case expenses we advanced on your behalf. That is the whole point of the No Fee Pledge — the firm carries the financial risk of the case, not you.
What percentage does Georgia Auto Law charge?
Our fee is a percentage of what we recover for you, and it is set out in a written fee agreement before we begin work. The percentage depends on how far the case has to go — cases that settle before a lawsuit is filed carry a lower fee than cases that require litigation or trial. Georgia requires contingency fee agreements to be in writing, so you will see the exact number and agree to it before signing anything.
Do I have to pay anything while my case is going on?
No. We advance the costs of building your case — medical records, expert witnesses, accident reconstruction, court filing fees, depositions — so you pay nothing out of pocket while the case is pending. If we win, those advanced costs are reimbursed out of the recovery. If we do not win, we absorb them.
When do I sign a fee agreement, and can I change my mind later?
You sign a written contingency fee agreement when you hire the firm, not at the free consultation. The consultation carries no obligation — you can leave without hiring us and owe nothing. After you hire us, you retain the right to discharge the firm; if that happens, we will explain in writing how any fee or advanced costs would be handled.
Does the No Fee Pledge apply to every kind of case?
It applies to the injury cases we take — car, truck, motorcycle, rideshare, pedestrian, and wrongful death claims arising from Georgia motor vehicle crashes. Contingency fees are not permitted in every type of legal matter under Georgia law, but they are standard in personal injury, which is the only work this firm does.
